Our Story

Growing up in Staten Island, New York, our school would do a yearly trip to a historic part of the island called Richmond Town. It was an old place where we would go to learn about and witness traditional trades by local artisans. To me, they were fascinating, I had never seen anything like it. From the blacksmith, to pottery and glass blowing, it was amazing to watch them create such beautiful things from scratch. What stuck with me the most was observing an old man hand dipping candles and watching it slowly form. It had me hypnotized then, and it still has me enthralled now.

As I got older, that experience played in the back of my mind until I couldn’t ignore it any longer. I had to do something to start. I decided to start Silver Strand Candles in order to make, by hand just like that old man, candles using natural resources to illuminate the night.

Today, the feeling of making something with my hands that can bring pleasure and comfort to my customers makes me smile. I care deeply about every pour, scent, and burn.

From the beginning, my goal of using natural resources, such as the soy and coconut wax already being used, gives me the satisfaction of helping out our environment while also producing a better candle.

Every single element of Silver Strand Candles has been carefully considered, and I hope that you feel my heart and passion for my candles whenever you light one.
